THE WORK AREA
The Sales area works with the travel agency channel to increase customer sales through national and regional sales and marketing strategies. The purpose of Inside Sales is to initiate outbound call and correspondence campaigns designed to generate and increase sales of mid-level travel agent accounts, build relationships with assigned and prospective accounts, and provide problem solving and customer service to agencies that have contacted Field Sales or Inside Sales.
THE ROLE
The role of an Inside Sales Consultant is to serve the external customers and internal partners by generating and increasing sales. In this role, consultants will manage mid-level travel agent accounts by implementing outbound call and correspondence campaigns, build relationships with existing accounts, and work with new accounts to mine and grow their business with us. Inside Sales Consultants will help to provide problem solving for agencies that have contacted Field or Inside Sales, but redirecting the agent to the appropriate department when possible
THE POSITION
The Inside Sales Consultant is responsible for the following results:
• Generating and increasing sales by identifying potential sales opportunities and by building relationships with assigned travel agent accounts with regard to marketing and sales needs via the telephone.
• Educating customers on our products and promotions, and generating and increasing sales, by communicating with established travel agent accounts and administering outbound call campaigns.
• Implementing advertising and sales promotion programs for assigned accounts by utilizing co-op advertising or direct mail, consumer shows, and publicity.
• Processing co-op forms that come in from the territory.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with the Business Development Managers and Inside Sales Consultants to fulfill customer needs as appropriate.
• Keeping management informed by advising supervisor of call campaign status and/or completion, , and monthly and annual territory analyses.
• Contributing to a team effort by accomplishing related results or projects as needed, including taking reservation calls or helping in other departments as needed.
EDUCATION
The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
The preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas:
• Working in a similar position within the sales and marketing field.
• Managing sales accounts (knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and tools)
• Leisure travel product knowledge, specifically Globus family of brands products, services, policies, features, and benefits. Strong travel industry knowledge preferred.
• Business acumen (business knowledge, competitor awareness, organization strategies)
• Professional, technical and functional expertise on systems, department processes, and procedures
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
